49ers Add Conway

The 49ers signed former Jets wide receiver Curtis Conway, who was released at the start of free agency, to a one-year contract Tuesday.

Conway was signed to add experience to one of the league's least experienced wide receiving corps. An 11-year vet, Conway has played for the Bears, Chargers and Jets.

He was signed last season by the Jets to fill the void created when Laveranues Coles left in restricted free agency to the Redskins. Conway caught 46 passes for 640 yards and two touchdowns.

The 6-1, 196-pound receiver is a big pass-catcher who has speed. He's caught 556 passes for 7,827 yards during his 11-year career. Conway was a first-round choice of the Bears in 1993.
