Plummer Eager to Regain Form

Overcome by neck soreness, unable to even nod or turn his head, 49ers cornerback Ahmed Plummer shut his eyes and held back tears. "I couldn't take any more," Plummer said. "It was to the point where it was so painful I could have cried, and I don't cry very easily. To move or to get up to do anything meant excruciating pain."

Peterson says he's almost all the way back
Sacramento Bee: Peterson tore his left Achilles' tendon Oct. 10 against the Arizona Cardinals and missed 11 games last season. But as the 49ers resume practices today after a break Sunday, Peterson said he believes he is close to a complete recovery.
