TC: Smith Impressing

After three days of training camp, it appears QB Alex Smith is not going to relinquish his stay with the 1st team offense anytime soon. Word is that as each day goes by Smith is getting better and better.

More Notes:

-- For the second straight day OT Jonas Jennings was in the middle of a scuffle. "Jonas is about protecting his teammates. For sure, we all are," center Eric Heitmann said.

-- Rashaun Woods, again has suffered an injury. Same as last years training camp Woods has injured his groin. Team will re-evaluate injury today (08.02.05)

-- Heitmann is the center of attention, literally. Heitmann has replace injured Center Jeremy Newberry, who is likely out for the season, and the transition so far has been smooth.

-- CB Randee Drew has a stress fracture in his foot and is out indefinitely. CB Shawntae Spencer (hamstring) sat out with minor injuries, and rookie WR Marcus Maxwell stood out in the second practice.
