Rattay: Still Pain in Arm

With less than a month to go before the 49ers' season opener, Tim Rattay continues to struggle with a maddening injury for a starting quarterback: It hurts him to throw a football.
Rattay practiced Tuesday on a limited basis, but his work consisted of handoffs and short throws. His aching right forearm stings if he attempts anything beyond 25 to 30 yards.
``The doctors seem to think he will be all right next week, but I've gotten a lot of surprises since I've been here, so you never know,'' Coach Dennis Erickson said.
