Newberry on the Shelf?
Latest reports are that center Jeremy Newberry needs more surgery on his right knee. The same knee that kept him out the majority of last season. It is to early to tell but Newberry may miss the 2005 season as well. In the meantime Eric Heitmann has been taking snaps at center, and drafted rookie David Baas is expected to see some time there as well. Last years backup Brock Gutierrez has not been offered a contract, so he is out of the picture. Look for a veteran center being signed as well.
