Thornton to Keep Corner Spot

If Ahmed Plummer returns to the 49ers' active roster Sunday in Chicago after missing five games with an ankle injury, it won't be as a starter at left cornerback. Former practice-squad player Bruce Thornton has done enough to hold onto the job, coach Mike Nolan said.
'Right now it doesn't look like (Plummer) will start,' Nolan said. 'He'll be listed as questionable. He wasn't 100 percent but he's close. It's his first day back.'
