Rattay to Start

ESPN's Pedro Gomez is reporting that coach Mike Nolan announced on Tuesday afternoon that QB Tim Rattay will open the season as the starting quarterback for the 49ers, against the St Louis Rams. Rookie QB Alex Smith is slated at the #2 spot on the depth chart.
