Slow Start for OC

Mike McCarthy was four games into his career as an offensive coordinator when he wondered what he had gotten himself into.

'That old saying, 'Be careful what you wish for,' well, that's what I was thinking,' said McCarthy, who is in his first year in charge of the 49ers' offense.

McCarthy got off to slow start as the New Orleans Saints' offensive coordinator in 2000. The Saints began the season 1-3, scoring 10 or fewer points in each of those losses.
